Coach is back
In the late 90s and early 2000s, I would go to Macy’s with my mom as she looked for a new purse. She was a Coach lover way BT (before Taylor). lol As she walked around the Coach handbag display, she made note of her favorites — often telling me why each purse was or wasn’t a contender. It had to be black, have a zip closure, and be able to fit all of her necessities comfortably. I laugh knowing what our necessities were back then — keys, wallet, lipstick?? You didn’t need to cram a iphone pro max into it!
Before locking in her choice, my mom and the clerk would fill the bags with my moms necessities, check out the look in the mirror, and eventually we’d leave with a new purse.
Once I got to middle school, my love for Coach started. I have quite the collection of what some might call *vintage these days. Ah thats a hard pill to swallow since that’s only 2006 and on. (LOL ok 20 years wow.) In college, my mom gave me all of her Coach bags from the 80s and 90s. What a jackpot until she asked for them back because they styles were trending again.
Ok on to the purpose of this post — a few weeks ago I was scrolling tiktok. A video popped up with girls doing OOTD’s at Keeneland. Much to my dismay, a girl shared her brown canvas Coach purse that she thrifted. She was so excited to share the vintage find with the world. Vintage?! I gasped. I had that bag in my closet and I remember the day I bought it. She was SO cute in 2010 — I have a photo of me using it the weekend of Junior Prom. It’s time to love on my Coach collection again because its obviously trending.
The vintage coach in question
Since I’m a lover of shopping, I decided to see what Coach is sharing these days. Oh. My. Word. The pricing, the quality, and the styles are beautiful! To know I have Coach bags in my closet that are OVER 20 years old and are in better shape than $$$$ designer bags I’ve only had for 7 — this is a true investment that I think is worth spending your money on.
